The power test regulations require a series of insulation performance tests for numerous power equipment such as cables, motors, generators, transformers, mutual inductors, high-voltage switches, lightning arresters, etc. The first step is to perform insulation resistance tests using an intelligent insulation resistance tester.


With the rapid development of the electric power industry in recent years, the use of large-capacity equipment has continued to increase, and its insulation performance cannot be tested using ordinary megohmmeters.


When testing the insulation resistance of large-capacity power equipment, the insulation resistance value is related to the pressurization time. The longer the pressurization time, the higher the insulation resistance value. This phenomenon is called insulation absorption. To understand the insulation performance of the test product, it is necessary to first conduct absorption ratio and polarization index tests on it to provide safety guarantees for the next step of leakage, dielectric loss, partial discharge and other insulation performance tests. After confirming that the wiring is correct (note: the test line is not allowed to drag the ground), turn on the machine for testing. The "high voltage output" light indicates that there is a high voltage output. It is strictly forbidden to touch the high voltage line at this time! It is strictly forbidden to unplug the test line or short-circuit the output during the test to avoid endangering the person and damaging the instrument.

When using the internal battery of the instrument for measurement, the display is dim or the display is not displayed when the instrument is turned on, indicating that the battery power is insufficient. The instrument should be turned off and charged in time. Note: When the test display voltage exceeds the selected rated voltage by a large amount and cannot be stable for a long time, please do not connect the load to test whether the voltage is normal. If it is still abnormal, please charge it. After charging it fully, test the voltage again. If the voltage is normal, it means that the power is insufficient and charge it in time.

When the instrument is not used for a long time, the battery should be charged regularly (once a month). Turn off the instrument when not in use and when charging.

The instrument should be stored in a dry, dust-free, and non-corrosive gas environment.

When testing large-capacity capacitive loads, ensure that there is enough discharge time after the test. The test line can be removed only after the discharge is completed. (Extraordinary capacitive load discharge for more than 1 minute)

When the meter is not connected to the test product, the insulation resistance display value measured generally reaches T level (1T=1000G). This value is generally a random infinite value, just like testing air, and has no practical significance.

If the meter fails, you should ask a full-time maintenance personnel or send it back to our company for repair. Do not disassemble the meter by yourself, otherwise our company will not be responsible for the loss caused. (Special note: Do not touch the high-voltage output line during the test. The test line can be turned on for testing only after it is connected. Do not short-circuit the test output line when outputting high voltage. After the test is completed, wait for the high voltage to be turned off, and wait for more than 20 seconds for automatic discharge before removing the line. Connect one end of the two heads of the test high-voltage line to the L end, and the black plug of the shielded line to the G end.)
